WebSep 7, 2014 · The bio pellets require a bit of modification to the reactor to get more flow through. Basically don't use the foam pads that come with the reactor, toss them. U can do one of two mods: 1) replace the sponges with mesh screen bought from any hobby or fabric store. It's a plastic mesh that comes in 11"x18" sheets that is used for needle work. It's granulated aluminum oxide (where gfo is granulated ferric 'iron' oxide) and pulls phosphates out faster than gfo. It's pretty much exhausted after 4 days and has to be replaced.

Also, these didn't fit my 150 out of the box - you need to cut them down to size. Kind of a pain. WebMar 26, 2015 · I wouldn't use the Phosban brand reactor. They tend to leak. Just run it next to your system and place the reactor on a shelf or table next to it (or on top of the chiller if running MH) the tubing to the pump from the chamber chosen and dial it in correctly.
