D2s are faster than 2.5s, but the 2.5s had a deeper reach (IIRC) and a lushness/beauty that I've not heard from other speakers. Never got on with the 3.5s, in marked contrast to @Mike Reed above. In the same room, same system, the 2.5s consistently played music better than the 3.5s. Go figure!

Very full mid range with poor vertical treble dispersion though.. you'll need a low chair to get on the level with the tweeter given the D'appolito configuration. The Response series are great speakers, no doubt of that imho. But this example of the Futures is even better, I think. Very detailed - that ribbon tweeter is excellent.
